Weekend Update!

We had a pretty quiet week around our house. The boys recovered from their colds. Dane has been getting his last two molars (baby teeth) in. Along with the teething came discomfort and a fever that lingered for 3 days. My poor boy. Back to back cruddy weeks. Once the motrin kicked in, you wouldn't even know that he didn't feel well. He became his crazy self for another 6 hours. Cash is growing like a weed. I have to say, it was a pretty nice week!

Happy times with Cashie!

Dane needs to do whatever we are doing-I'm taking pictures, he needs to take pictures. Ross was using a screwdriver this weekend, Dane needed to use his screwdriver. It's super cute.

We got our first sled--Daddy and Dane enjoyed the snow and sled rides. Dane's smile was so big and stuck on his face the entire time outside.

Daddy taught Dane how to make and then throw a snowball. Ross had a great time with his big boy. It was so cute...he came in and said to me, "I just got to sled with my son for the first time. I just got to watch Dane throw his first snowball. That is so cool." Most of you have not seen my husband's sentimental side. It's adorable when it pokes out. Makes me fall in love with him all over again to see him with his children.

Saturday night we hit the Holidazzle Parade downtown. Dane kept saying, "we're going to Minneapolis." The weather was perfect and the parade was beautiful.

Dane's eyes were glued to the parade and the people. He is such a people person. Someday we may get a picture with everyone looking and smiling.

This picture didn't turn out well, but it was a bus named the 'twinkle bus.' It was so cute.

Had to get a picture of the trains.

A little brotherly love.

One pooped out Dane-bug! He had a jam-packed day of fun. It wore him out.

This picture was taken so everyone could see how big Cash is getting. I can't believe it. I've been wishing the time away to when he can be doing more and requiring less of me. I need to stop that. The time went-and continues to go-so fast, with Dane. Just thinking back, it seems like yesterday I was in giving birth to him. Cash is 3 1/2 months and before I know it, he will be Dane's age and I will be wondering why I didn't cherish my baby time when I had it.

Randoms-

We didn't do a whole lot this week. Both of the boys and Ross were sick with colds-I managed to escape it! I wanted to keep them in away from the cold and pump them full of fluids and food to get them well. My methods worked and everyone has recovered.

December 1st was Grandma Lynn's birthday. We celebrated by having her and Grandpa Greg, as well as Great-Grandma Jo, over for dinner. We had a great time! Happy Birthday Lynn!

Dane and I made cookies one day. He insisted that we wear aprons.

After the snow we received Saturday, Dane and I bundled up and headed out for a little snow fun. Unfortunately, that fun was very short lived. Dane took a header face first into the snow. His words-in between the crying-were, "I need to go in."

Cash is so smiley and I've been trying like crazy to get more of those smiles on film. However, these days, as soon as he sees the flash, his eyes go wide and the smile fades. Oh well.

Dane being his crazy self. He truly is the funniest person I know.

More examples of funny stuff. Dane flipped over his special chair and made it even more special. He got himself all set up for a movie. He needed to watch the movie on the small tv. His words. Like I said, he's funny.

Holy Blog!

Be prepared...this is one long blog.
We had such a wonderful family, fun-filled weekend. Thanksgiving Day was spent with the Greenwald's at my in-laws house. The food, the conversation and the family was great, as usual. I, of course, did not get many pictures of the whole fan damily, just a few of my guys. Sorry.

We have so much to be thankful for and being with our families really puts that into perspective even more.

Cashie lounging with Great-Grandpa Marvin.

My mother-in-law wanted to take some family pictures. I think they turned out pretty good minus the fact that my boys weren't smiling. There were just too many cameras going off at once. Where do you look??

Dane was having so much fun, especially playing with his Daddy. He has loved playing with the pool balls since he could walk. This time, he actually used the cue and hit the ball. He was stoked!

Such an excited boy!

Friday we celebrated Thanksgiving for another day. The day was spent at my parent's house along with all of the family from my side. 22 of us-11 being kids. There was a lot of noise in a not so large space, but it was a lot of fun! More good food, more good conversation and an all around good time. I love to watch my kids play with their cousins. Cash may not be doing that just yet, be he will be before we know it. They all have such a fun time together.

It's been a tradition that was established 3 years ago, to go bowling after the big meal. The kids seem to enjoy it and the adults have a grand time!! This year, Dane really got into it. Cash slept through the whole thing!

Saturday, we got up and went to get our Christmas tree. The weather was fantastic-beautiful, sunny and kind of warm! We went to a you-cut-your own tree farm. However, after walking through and taking many looksies, we were unable to find one that we liked.

Dane brought his saw with to help Daddy cut the tree. I don't think he knew that this tree was cut for us.

Cash just hung out and enjoyed himself.

Here is our beaut! A fraser fir. The smell is awesome.
After we brought in the tree, it wasn't long before Dane began sneezing and coughing. We thought he may be allergic to the tree and so we took it back outside.
Well, the next morning Dane was not any better and we came to the decision that he had a cold. The cold came with green boogies and all. Lovely.
So, needless to say, the tree came back in.

Dane and Daddy playing with the trains.

Playing beautiful music.

I pulled out the stockings. They looked so nice. That is, until Dane decided to pull at one. The stocking and holder fell and almost hit him in the head. That was the end of that.

Here's my sick little guy helping Daddy get his hunting stuff together. (Ross goes muzzle loading once a year with his dad). Look at his face :o( Poor boy.

Decorating the tree with Dane was so much fun. This is the first time he really got into it. My anal side shown through as he was trying to put many ornaments right next to each other. Ross kept trying to tell me it was ok, but man was that hard. I did leave the ornaments where he put them.

Ta-da! The finished product is gorgeous.
We are full of Christmas spirit in this house and are greatly looking forward to the rest of the holiday season. It's been so fun to experience life in the eye's of a child. Everything is fun, new and exciting to Dane. Us too...

Pure Bliss!

Today I'm feeling overwhelmingly happy! My family is healthy, safe, well fed, happy, warm and loved. We are all so lucky! As Thanksgiving approaches, my heart is so full. I am so thankful--beyond thankful for the gifts in my life.

Cash is a smile machine!

My Mom and I took the boys downtown to Macy's 8th floor. "A Day in the Life of Santa's Elves." (Or at least I think that's what it was called-my brochure is in the car :o)
It was amazing. Dane seemed unsure about it, but had a fun time with the lights!

These were singing trees!

The dessert kitchen! It smelled of real gingerbread. Yum.

Part of the candy shop and toy land.

Next was a visit to Santa. Dane is currently obsessed with Santa. We wrote a letter to him last night, telling Santa that he was a good boy and what he would like for Christmas. He told Santa that he wanted train tracks for Thomas, James and Percy (the trains he has). He then said, thank you. Trick-or-treat. It was hilarious. Earlier in the day I heard him talking to "someone" saying, 'please santa-train tracks for Christmas.' Little does he know, train tracks WILL be under the tree!!!
Anyways...so we went to see Santa. Dane handed him the letter and bolted. He wanted nothing to do with him. He wouldn't sit on his lap or even stand near him. It was interesting.

While Dane and Grandma Tammy went back for a second time, I had a nice visit with the Cash-man. Here is Dane joining us for some juice!

We ended our morning with McDonald's and a stop back at Grandma and Grandpa's. My step-dad loves hanging with his grandchildren. They love hanging with him. Cash thinks he's funny. He did some giggles for his Grandpa.

Hangin'

We had a nice weekend hangin' at home. Dane keeps us very entertained.

Sometime recently, Dane picked up this new face. Well, it's kind of an old face. I remember when he did this as a baby. Now he's big and it's still super funny!

Ross took these two pictures of our boys. Whenever we change Cash, Dane insists on being nakey, too. He screams "Dane nakey," over and over until we let him become nakey. Well, diaper and socks. It's too cold for all-the-way.
They look so adorable.

Handy Dane! He loves to wear his tool belt "just like Handy Manny." If Ross or I are using any tools, he has to quick run to get that same tool from his box to help. Funny thing though...the other day I was using a hammer and he said to me "no Mommy. Only guys do it." Where did he learn that??
