The Weekend!

We had a really nice, long weekend--together. Mostly just our little family doing our own thing. I finished staining the porch (I'll take a picture soon)-well, the first coat of everything and the second of the floor. I'm hoping to get the rest of the second coat up by the end of the week. It looks awesome. Ross put in paver stones in the backyard by the walkout. We moved a lot of rock around the house. We planned what's next on the "to do" list. Friday we bbq'd and swam at the Greenwald's. Sunday my parents came by for a bit. The kids were up late--Dane didn't nap all weekend (but took a 3 hour one today) and we just really enjoyed each other's company.

After dinner, we started a campfire. Yes, it was super hot out, but the bugs were bad and the kids wanted marshmallows.

Can you believe it was actually 8:30 at night?!

My parents rode their motorcycle over. Dane thinks it's totally awesome. If you look close, you can see two mosquitos on him. He has bites everywhere. Apparently our bug spray didn't work.

Today we went over to Lake Rebecca. We brought our bikes and the trailer in hopes of a little playtime at the park and a long bike ride for Mom and Dad. Well, we had the playtime, but not so much of a bike ride. Dane rode his bike for awhile, alongside Ross and I, but he quickly became tired so we tossed him into the trailer with Cash. Cash was extremely tired and hot and wanted nothing to do with being stuck next to Dane. He screamed terribly for 5 minutes and I couldn't stand it any longer. So we went back. So much for a nice, enjoyable ride. The park was cool though and Dane informed us that "We need to come here more often, guys." We sure will!

Some of my pictures are out of order...I was looking back at them and old pictures of 2 years ago exactly, came into my mind. I think our boys look so different, but when you see these pictures it's funny how similar they look.

Dane's Quote of Today!

"Mom. There is a man that lives in the sky. Did you know that? And he uses a mechanical remote control to make the weather change. Cool huh?!"

Dane-rrrr!

It was a big weekend at our house. Dane and Daddy hit the golf course for the first time together. Ross has been waiting for this day for a long time! They had a great time putting and driving the ball. And a special lunch after-just the two of them. Awww...just melts my heart! Both of these guys had an awesome time and can't wait for the next trip!

Check out that form?!

Also big news this weekend--the training wheels came off of Dane's bike after hours (literally) of him begging. And we hoped for the best--avoid a crash. And he was off like lightening. Seriously, just one little push and a "let go now Daddy," and he was gone.

My little boy rode away. And rode back a "big" boy.

(And lost his helmet somewhere in the process...)

Tuesday already?!

Well, with the long weekend ahead of us, our plan was to hang home and do stuff around here. Firstly, power wash our porch and prep it for staining. This cedar porch is beautiful, but had never been cleaned or treated. Neither Ross (the power washer) or myself knew what we were in for...

Just starting out Friday evening. The porch was coated with the thick layer of yuck. Everything looked gray. Ross worked hard for a few hours-but didn't finish-as the boys played with the neighbors and I worked on the yard.

Saturday was spent hanging with the Greenwald's. I had to work and met the guys over there, so the camera wasn't with. Boo. We had a great time swimming in the pool, an awesome meal and a beautiful evening boat ride.

Sunday brought more power washing. When I say more, I mean LOTS more. No joke, Ross was cleaning the porch for 7 hours straight. Insane. I mean, now it looks amazing and is ready for stain, but seriously. 7 hours. Plus the 3 the night before and the 2 this morning. That's a lot.

Finally, Memorial Day. We had a great day together. Ross did a bunch of work around the house while the rest of us played. We took a nice bike ride to a park and had a super fun time playing.

What a great picture--so carefree and those little piggies are delectable (even dirty)

Goofs.

Dane loves tennis. And he's actually pretty darn good. He said this was his favorite part of the park trip.

"My turn, Daddy."

It was a busy weekend spent mostly at home. Together. Exactly where we wanted to be.

Last Day of Preschool!

Dane's first year of preschool has come to an end. It was such a great year-for all of us. Dane loved school, his teachers and his classmates. He made a lot of friends--as did I. The parents were required to attend parent groups once a week. I loved this tremendously, as it is so nice to talk with other parents going through similar things. It's been a great resource for me. And I've made some fabulous friends, as well.

We are so proud of Dane, not just for what he's accomplished thus far in his short, little life, but for who he is as a person. He is kind, loving, intelligent, sensitive, hilarious, caring and an extreme pleasure to be around. I know my little guys are still pretty little, but I can already tell that they are going to be such good big guys, too-(but then again, they do come from good stock!!)

Getting ready to leave for school (Cashie too...)
**Dane's got this new thing where he puts his fingers int he air-the stuff kids come up with.

Daddy came to school with Dane and had a fun time seeing everything that he does all day.
After the first part of class was over, we all took a walk down to Dairy Queen.

The kids all got to select what they wanted ahead of time. They even got to carry their own money and pay themselves. It was pretty awesome!! He was very proud of himself!

Yummo-twist cones!

Here's to whole gang-they are such great kids.

See you next fall!!
(Isn't he just precious...)

After school wrapped up, a few of us went to the fountains to play. Perfect day if you're Dane. DQ, sun, fountains, friends, Mom/Dad/Cash=FUN!

A job well done goes out to our Danie. Daner. Buggie. Nugget. Babe. Munchie. Love Love. You are the sweetest boy and we love you to pieces.

Things R.O.C.K!

I think I found this idea on a blog that I follow--I can't remember. Anyways, the kids totally dig glow sticks. Especially in the tubby. And I earn a cool Mom award!

I had to get a picture of Ross and his first time mowing our lawn. He's been working really hard on the grass and the front yard is looking fab. Pretty exciting stuff.

Randoms

The kids love the tub. Big time.

Here they are trying to be Santa.

Cash has decided that he will now ride in our bike trailer again--he did great last year and started out rough this spring. Now he's back. It's been fun.

Bundles of Love!

I got Dane this cool Raphael Ninja Turtle costume at the ECFE garage sale a few weekends ago. Isn't it awesome?! When he put it on the first time, he kept it on all day. He is fun-ny!

Ross must have taken these pictures while I was gone recently, but they are the cutest!

It just melts my heart.

The three amigos-and most handsome guys ever!!

And finally, my Mother's Day gift Daner made at school. I can't believe how blessed I am.

A Day in the Life of a Greenwald

Things have been pretty busy around here. We--I mostly mean Ross--are working very hard at establishing some type of yard. The previous owners never watered or mowed ONCE! So, with that being said, the yard needs work. My F-I-L Greg pretty much knows everything about everything. He has offered much help in many areas and we greatly appreciate that!

After lots of hard work, a beautiful bonfire complete with hot dogs and smores, was in order.
(Look at my little cooker...)

Just enjoying an evening of pizza together on the porch!

Out little loves--who get along most times, but have already started the whole "bugging" each other phase. Already?!?

You can't see it here, but Cash was using a baby spoon to scoop out playdoh. Then scooped some into his mouth. Gag. I'm soooo ready for this stage of everything in the mouth to be over!

Hi Daner.

Cashie helping Daddy!

And showing his battle wounds from the neighbor boy who took a corner too fast thus ejecting Cash out of the wagon onto the sidewalk. Poor babe.

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful family filled Easter this year. As in years past, we drove down to Rochester the day before to spend the day with my mom, aunts, uncles and cousins. We had a great time and the kids made a killing in the awesome egg hunt Aunt Lori and Uncle Dave provided (I didn't get any pictures as I was always chasing after an ever exploring, accident prone Cash), but it was really nice to see everyone again!

Sunday, we woke up and the kids found their baskets. This was the first year that Dane really understood the whole basket/bunny thing. It was fun though and he just couldn't believe that the bunny knew how much he liked Spiderman. I told him, I couldn't believe it myself! (again, no pictures--I've gotten really bad).

After a good visit with Uncle Bryan, some lunch and a nap, we spent the late afternoon and evening with the Greenwald side of the family. There was another awesome egg hunt and more cool baskets. The boys had fun and so did Mom and Dad. Things are always extra fun when the ones you love most are squealing with delight (and on a sugar high)!

Beginning the hunt.

Look what I've got...

Hmmm...I wonder if there are some eggs over here?

Call me Bean. Jelly Bean.

Happy Spring!

Spiderman

Officer Spiderman Greenwald...(seriously. Dane dressed himself and named himself)

Dane's latest obsession is Spiderman. It's been Spiderman for quite some time, but lately, everything is about Spidey. Dane says, "Mom, my Spidey sense is telling me that I'm not going to like dinner." Or "Mary Jane is coming to school with us today. She'll sit up front by you." It's really fun to see his imagination run wild. Sometimes it's downright hilarious! I mean, hearing those previous statements, how do you not laugh out loud? I definitely think this pretend phase is one of my favorites. I totally love the way kids brains are. They are soooo smart. It's crazy.
