New Stuff

Not lots of new stuff, but some. We've been preparing for a surprise 50th birthday party for my Mom. We had that this weekend and were too busy during the party to snap many pictures...but it was fun. A great turnout and a real surprise for my Mom. My Grandparents made the trip up from Alabama--it was awesome! Friday night our neighbors across the street had a house fire-looks like it has to be gutted. It was scary (gave all of us neighbors something to talk about) but everyone was ok. Finally, today we made a trip to the 101 market-something we've been talking about doing since before it opened this fall. The boys love going and had a great time. We're hoping to make it there this weekend with Daddy to do the things that were not open today-we'll have to see. Soooooo much going on over the weekend.

Dane enjoying some painting on our new easel the boys received as a gift from our friends the Huikkos, for their birthdays!

Cash being a goof asking me to take his picture!

The neighbors taking us on a ride around the block--this lasted all of 2 seconds before both of our boys threw a fit and wanted off. Not sure why...

The neighbors house after being hosed down and before being boarded up.

My Mom and her pretty little headband! 50 is nifty! (Her actual b-day is the 31st)

Cute!!

A lady asked me if I would like her to take a few pictures of us. This was her attempt to get us all looking!

What a great weekend! Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Pumpkins

We were busy this weekend-stuff around the house, an overnight visit with Grandma Tammy and Grandpa Jeff and pumpkins!
Saturday morning we went with the Larson's (Ryan, Caren and Addie) to Pumpkin Day in Otsego. It was a crazy busy place, but the kids had fun and we scored two big, awesome pumpkins! Thanks for the invite Larson's!

Dane playing "Klunko."

And a little playground fun before heading home for lunch!

Today we carved the pumpkins. We tried a new approach...Or Daddy did-

I saw it in a magazine recently and you know what?! It made it so much easier to clean out!
Thanks Hubbs!

Looking at all the gunk inside.
The boys didn't want to touch it. I didn't understand. I thought kids loved this kind of stuff?!

Dane drew his own face on the pumpkin and actually carved one of the eyes using his "knife." A butter knife. It took quite awhile, but he is one determined little feller.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

It's Been Awhile...

Things are moving along quite nicely as we roll into mid-October. Dane is still enjoying pre-school and Cash loves his "school" too. Cash and I are having more time to spend together alone as Dane is in school 3 days a week now. We have a great schedule and are now back at storytime every week. It's been great to have some special time with Cash, too. The weather has been perfect-amazing! So, we've been trying to soak up as much fall as we can!

Dane rarely naps anymore. It's sad. He's getting so big. But, on this day, he set up camp in his tunnel and fell fast asleep. "I'm not going to take a nap Mom, I'm just going to relax in my tent." Yeah, sure buddy!

Catching a rare moment where they are playing nicely with one another.

Dane insisted on this picture being taken as he and Cash are both wearing their "all star jammers."

We spent a few hours at the park the other day, complete with bike riding, throwing rocks into the river, a picnic lunch and playground time! It was such a fun day!

Friday evening was still 75 degrees after the sun went down. So why not run in the sprinklers?! Daddy's idea--a pretty good one if you ask the boys.

I am apart of the parent advisory council at Dane and Cash's school and as our fall fundraiser, we chose to coordinate a 5k walk/run. The weather was beyond beautiful and the turnout was awesome! Thanks to all of our family and friends who were able to join us--it means a lot to have such supportive people in our lives!

Dane dashed through the finish line! It was a great day! And the weather is forecasting another beautiful week! Happy Fall!!
